Dorset Cancer Centre Patient Raises Money Through Sponsored Silence

Poole Hospital patient Angela Youdim presented staff at the Dorset Cancer Centre with a cheque for £800 this month. Angela – who has recently undergone a course of chemotherapy at the Hospital – raised £400 by taking part in a day’s sponsored silence. The amount was then generously matched by her employer, Bourne Steel.
Angela was sponsored by colleagues to maintain her silence for a full day in the office, and successfully lasted from 8.30am to 4.30pm without saying a word!
Angela said: “I wanted to give something back to the Hospital. The staff looked after me very well during my treatment, and were very sympathetic.”
