A generous donation from JPMorgan and the Variety Club means young patients in Poole Hospital’s children’s unit will benefit from new equipment to administer medical fluids steadily and safely.

A total of £1295 was given to the unit - £1100 from JP Morgan and £195 from the Variety Club – to purchase an Omnifuse Syringe Driver, an advanced piece of kit that allows patients to receive a regulated flow of fluids over a period of time.

Karen Fernley, Sister on Poole Hospital’s Children’s Unit, said: “We are extremely grateful to both JPMorgan and the Variety Club for their generous support. The new syringe driver will make a big difference on the children’s wards to both patients and nurses.”

Dorcas Williams, Vice-President at JPMorgan, said: “We are happy to support such a key need and help the team on the children’s wards.”

Wish ListFrances Cornelius, Secretary of the Variety Club Wessex Barkers, said: “This is a very good example of why our Committee are so committed to fundraising. We try to help make our sick, disabled and disadvantaged children’s lives in the Wessex Region a little easier, it makes us all feel very humble to see how these children smile through their immense problems.”
