Former Patient Takes To The Skies To Raise Funds For Poole Hospital

A former patient at Poole Hospital has raised over £650 for the Wish List by taking part in a sponsored glide.
Linda O’Brien completed her treatment for breast cancer in 2006, after battling the disease twice. She won the gliding experience in a raffle that she herself organised to raise money for the Ladybird Unit, the Hospital’s breast cancer facility.
Although by her own admission “not a daredevil”, Linda decided to go ahead with the glide and asked friends and family to sponsor her, ultimately raising £656 in funds.
Linda said: “I was terrified on the day, but I felt very proud of myself afterwards! I’d like to say thank you to everyone who supported me – I’m really pleased to have been able to do something to support other women suffering from breast cancer.”
