Members of the 2nd Parkstone Guides present a cheque to NICU Senior Sister Sally House

A group of enterprising Girl Guides donated a cheque for £132.63 to the Poole Hospital Wish List this month to fund equipment for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

The Panda Patrol of the 2nd Parkstone Guides organised a Christmas Fayre on a very wet and windy 8th December, at which they had various games, stalls and an indoor barbecue. The girls were very proud of their achievement and invited NICU staff to one of their meetings to present their cheque.

Sally House, Senior Sister at NICU, said: “We are very grateful to Panda Patrol for organising the Christmas Fayre and raising £132.63 for us. We were delighted to be invited to give a presentation to the 2nd Parkstone Guides and enjoyed meeting everybody. The money will be spent on two Electric Breast Pumps which we will lend to mums when they go home to assist them in providing breast milk for their pre-term babies.”
