A group of adventurous motorcyclists on a mammoth fundraising tour called in at Poole Hospital last month to meet members of a local lymphoma support group.

Jo Hiles, Alan Allmond and Kevin Mosley embarked on the tour during Lymphoma Awareness Week, and averaged 400 miles a day in their bid to visit as many lymphoma support groups as possible during one week. Starting their tour in Aylesbury, the trio travelled around the UK, visiting towns and cities as widely spread as Bristol, Cardiff, Blackpool, Coventry and even Paisley in Scotland.

To date, they have raised over £2000 for the Lymphoma Association. The Lymphoma Association provides emotional support and information on a range of issues to anyone affected by lymphatic cancer. You can find out more about the charity and the services it offers by visiting www.lymphomas.org.uk.

The support group meets on a bi-monthly basis at Poole Hospital’s Health Information Centre. It is an informal group, and provides support for those affected by lymphatic cancer, as well as friends and family members.
