Day Case Surgery Patients
From the Reception area (Entrance 10) the Day Case Unit is situated to the rear of the Hospital on the second floor. From the multi-storey car park, enter Hospital into glass-covered courtyard (Entrance 8), turn right and follow signs. Find where on the Poole Hospital site plan.
What to do when you arrive
Report to Reception in the Day Case Unit and a nurse who will be looking after you will meet you there and show you what to do.
What will happen?
You may be attending the Day Case Unit for pre-assessment or for an operation or procedure. You will receive appropriate advice and details on preparation before admission and before discharge.
How long will I be?
This will be included in the information you receive from the Day Case Unit.
Changing your appointment
If you cannot keep your appointment for any reason, please tell us as soon as possible. We can then offer the date to another patient. The telephone number is on your appointment letter or telephone the Day Case Unit on 01202 442490. If you fail to keep your appointment without notifying us you may be referred back to your GP.

- A book or magazine to read while waiting
- Change for the phone
- Slippers and dressing gown
