Volunteers at Poole Hospital
Are you interested in becoming a Poole Hospital Volunteer?
All of us at some time have been able to help others and know the personal
satisfaction to be gained in this way.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Poole Hospital you would be
joining a large number of people who give some of their spare time to help
provide additional services and benefits for our patients.
Typical duties of a Poole Hospital volunteer are:
Being prepared to talk to patients and provide a listening ear.
- To assist in alleviating patients' boredom by playing games or helping them to write letters.
- Providing patients with a cup of tea or coffee
- Helping patients to complete their menu cards
- Helping ward/department staff by distributing post or undertaking an errand around the hospital.
In addition to volunteering on the wards there is also a possibility of volunteering in the Shop and also in the Main Reception area to meet and greet patients.
The time that volunteers typically give is 3 hours a week up to one or two days per week on a regular basis.
